The Open Connection ("TOC," "we," "us," or "our") operates theopenconnection.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices available to you.

Information you provide

When you join as a Charter Member, we collect your name and email address. You may also provide your city, state, and an answer explaining how you heard about TOC. If you contact us, we receive the information included in your message.

Sensitive information and discretion

Because TOC serves adults in lifestyle, non-monogamous, and poly communities, joining or communicating with us may reveal information that you consider sensitive. Please do not submit intimate details, information about another person, or anything unnecessary through the signup or referral fields. We limit access to subscriber information to the systems and people reasonably needed to operate TOC, but we cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality or security.

Information collected automatically

If you accept optional analytics, Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel may collect information about your browser, device, approximate location, pages viewed, referring source, and interactions with the site. These providers may use cookies or similar technologies. Essential local storage is used to remember your privacy choice and support site functions.

How we use information

To manage Charter Membership and respond to you.
To send community updates, gathering news, shop announcements, and offers when you consent.
To understand how visitors find and use the site and improve TOC.
To maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

How we share information

We use service providers to operate TOC, including Vercel for website hosting, Airtable for subscriber records, Make for workflow automation, Google/Gmail for email delivery, Google Analytics for analytics, and Meta for measurement and advertising. These companies process information under their own terms and privacy practices. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some privacy laws may define analytics or advertising disclosures to Meta as “sharing” or targeted advertising. You can prevent those tools from loading by choosing “Only necessary” in Cookie Settings.

Email choices

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails, visiting our unsubscribe page, or emailing hello@theopenconnection.com. We may retain limited suppression information so we can honor your request.

Retention and security

We keep information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described here, including legal, accounting, security, and opt-out obligations. We use reasonable safeguards, but no online system is completely secure.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, and to opt out of certain uses. To make a request, email us. We may need to verify your identity before completing it.

Adults only

TOC is intended only for adults age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided information.
